After the sting of defeat against Fulham on Sunday, the new week has brought some more positive news for Liverpool supporters.

As Liverpool aim to avoid any more slip-ups in the Premier League title race, the good news should enliven the Anfield crowd for Sunday’s game against West Ham.

Given confidence will be high after Arsenal’s enormous win over Real Madrid on Tuesday, Liverpool cannot afford to give the Gunners any more hope. A win is an absolute must.

With a full week off between games, the Liverpool squad should be fully rested and ready for the visit of the Hammers.

However, some worries developed on Wednesday after Alexis Mac Allister was not spotted in training with the rest of his teammates. With the match drawing ever closer, an update has been given on why Mac Allister missed the session.

No worries over Alexis Mac Allister

Mac Allister was one of the few players to come out of Sunday’s loss against Fulham with any credit at all. The Argentine scored a beauty to put Liverpool ahead.

Beyond that, Mac Allister has been one of Arne Slot’s absolute key men this season. He will be needed during the run

Thankfully, then, the Liverpool ECHO have moved to report that the No.10’s absence from Wednesday’s training is nothing to worry about.

They claim that the Reds have ‘no major concerns’ over Mac Allister’s fitness despite his no-show during the group session.

Instead of joining his teammates, it’s claimed that the World Cup winner was working on an individual programme inside the Liverpool training ground.

Given the length of time between fixtures moving forward, Liverpool are reportedly paying more attention to putting players on individual fitness regimes in order to keep them as fresh as possible.

Alisson trains ahead of West Ham

Mac Allister would be a big miss for Liverpool if he does not make Sunday’s game. Happily, that doesn’t sound like it will be the case.

And there was further good news for Reds fans on Wednesday as the ECHO report that Alisson Becker was seen out in training.

Virgil van Dijk was not sure about Alisson’s fitness when asked after Sunday’s game, but the Brazilian reportedly trained as normal.

This does not mean that Alisson will definitely play against West Ham, however, with the goalkeeper still needing to pass the pre-match concussion protocols.

Elsewhere, it’s reported that both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez were still missing completely as they continue their recoveries from injury.
