Liverpool will have to pay as much as £49.5m to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson this summer, according to a new rumour
The Reds may look to bring in various reinforcements at the end of the season, including attack, amid doubts surrounding the futures of several players.
Not only has star man Mohamed Salah not yet signed a contract extension at Liverpool, but Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez have all been linked with moves away in the summer transfer window
The latter trio have all been generally used centrally this season, but there are murmurs that Arne Slot has issues with them for different reasons
Liverpool’s midfield is well-stocked, with Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai in magnificent form currently, but that’s not to say that a new face won’t arrive in the middle of the park.

According to Fussball News [via Sport Witness], Liverpool are interested in sealing the signing of Larsson, with Chelsea providing competition for his signature. He is seen as “one of the hottest” players ahead of the summer.
Frankfurt have slapped a £49.5m asking price on the midfielder’s shoulders, however, and they believe he can become an £82.6m-rated player over time.
A potentially superb signing for Liverpool
Larsson is a player who could have a massive future in the game, with the 20-year-old scoring three times in the Bundesliga this season, as well as netting twice in the Europa League.
Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has described him as both “brilliant” and “one of the most interesting U21 midfielders in Europe”.
If Larsson does make the move to Liverpool, he will have to accept that he will have to take up a squad role for the time being, given the level of quality and depth currently on show in that area under Slot.
He has the potential to grow into a special footballer, though, so the Reds would be wise to snap him up before others get the chance to, and he could develop even more by playing alongside some world-class footballers.
Midfield admittedly isn’t the most pressing area to add new faces in, but when you have a chance to sign someone of Larsson’s talent, not trying
to sign him would feel like a risk.
