Experienced Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has given an update on his future, as speculation continues around potential replacement Milos Kerkez
Andy Robertson has finally spoken about his future, and while he didn’t give a clear answer, it’s obvious that things are being discussed behind the scenes. With just a year left on his contract, there’s naturally going to be a lot of talk about what comes next — especially with Liverpool being linked so strongly to Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
Robertson said he’s had “good discussions” with the club, but doesn’t know what the future holds yet. Right now, he’s just focused on having a break and spending time with his kids before coming back for pre-season. He sounded pretty relaxed about everything, but it’s hard not to feel like change might be coming.
To be fair, he’s earned that break. Robbo played 45 games last season and has given everything since joining in 2017. Over 340 appearances, full commitment every game, and a big part of everything we’ve achieved in the Klopp era.
But with him turning 31 this year and his contract ending next summer, the club might be thinking about the long term. If Kerkez really is coming in, that could mean serious competition — or even a sign that the club is preparing for life after Robbo.
It’s hard to imagine the team without him, but it’s also part of football. Either way, sounds like we won’t know much more until pre-season kicks off. For now, he’s just being a dad and taking a breather. Fair enough.
Let’s see what happens. Whatever he decides, he’s already a legend in my eyes.
