Forget Isak: Liverpool must sign ‘explosive monster’ next to win the UCL, imagine him and Wirtz

Liverpool must now look to seal a deal for AC Milan sensation Rafael Leao after signing Florian Wirtz if they want to win the Champions League

Liverpool haven’t wasted any time making moves this summer. Fresh off winning the Premier League title, the Reds have already landed Jeremie Frimpong and smashed their transfer record to bring in Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Milos Kerkez is also on his way, with a deal agreed and an announcement expected any day now.

But while things are moving quickly, there’s still one big piece missing — a game-changing attacker to complete this exciting rebuild under Arne Slot.

Leão Has to Be the One

All the buzz has been around Alexander Isak, and rightfully so. He’s one of the best strikers in Europe. But Newcastle aren’t budging. Reports suggest they’d want close to £200m to even start talking — and that’s just not happening. It’s time for Liverpool to pivot, and there’s a perfect name staring them in the face: Rafael Leão.

He’s made it clear he’s ready to leave AC Milan after a rough season saw them miss out on Champions League football. And at around £60m, he’s far more affordable than Isak or any other top-tier striker.

Leão might not be a traditional number nine, but that’s not really the point. What he brings is dynamism, flair, pace, and goals — everything you’d want in a modern attacker. He’s been called “explosive” and a “monster” for a reason.

With Luis Díaz and Diogo Jota both having uncertain futures, Leão feels like the perfect addition. He can play wide or central, he fits Slot’s system, and alongside Wirtz and Salah, he could form a deadly front three that would terrify any defence in Europe.

Liverpool have spent big already — and it’s working. But if they want to go all the way in Europe again, adding Rafael Leão could be the move that gets them over the line. One more big push, and the seventh Champions League might not be far off.
