Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Napoli over a deal to sign Victor Osimhen in a ‘sensational swap’ deal, as per TEAMtalk.
Liverpool have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Victor Osimhen as uncertainty grows around Darwin Núñez’s future at Anfield. Following Osimhen’s prolific season at Galatasaray—where he scored 37 goals and provided 7 assists—the Nigerian striker has returned to Napoli but is expected to leave this summer.
While Al-Hilal made a strong push, Osimhen is not interested in a Saudi move at this stage. TEAMtalk now reports that Liverpool have initiated talks with Napoli and Osimhen’s representatives. The player is said to be open to a Premier League move, and Liverpool appears to be his preferred destination.
Napoli are holding out for Osimhen’s £63m release clause, but Liverpool are looking to negotiate a part-exchange deal. The proposed offer could involve Darwin Núñez and Federico Chiesa, both of whom are expected to leave. Núñez has not met expectations, and Chiesa struggled with injuries and consistency last season.
Liverpool’s interest in Osimhen reflects their ambition to reshape the attack under new manager Arne Slot. With Salah’s long-term future still a topic of conversation, the addition of a proven, dynamic striker like Osimhen would mark a significant reinforcement.
The Reds have already secured Jeremie Frimpong and are finalizing deals for Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez. Adding Osimhen would further demonstrate the club’s intent to remain competitive at the highest level—both domestically and in Europe.
