Liverpool given green light to stunning Aurelien Tchouameni move: report

Liverpool have been granted the go-ahead to complete a stunning Aurelien Tchouameni swoop

Liverpool Could Finally Land Tchouaméni – and for a Bargain

Liverpool might be Premier League champions once again, but the work behind the scenes never stops – and it looks like the Reds could be lining up a massive midfield addition this summer.

Ryan Gravenberch was a standout in the No.6 role last season, but there’s still a feeling that Liverpool are missing a proper midfield enforcer – the kind of player who bosses the middle of the park and adds some real bite. That’s why talk of a move for Aurélien Tchouaméni is getting fans excited all over again.

Liverpool were heavily linked with the French star before he joined Real Madrid in 2022 for around £68.3 million, plus £17m in add-ons. He was a major coup back then – and even now, he’s ranked third in FourFourTwo’s list of the best defensive midfielders in world football.

But here’s the twist: with Xabi Alonso now managing Los Blancos and players like Camavinga, Bellingham, and even Trent Alexander-Arnold pushing for midfield minutes, Tchouaméni might just be available. According to Fichajes and AS, Madrid could be willing to part with him for just £59 million – a price that would have seemed impossible not long ago.

That’s serious value for a 25-year-old with elite-level experience and positional versatility. Under Carlo Ancelotti, Tchouaméni even slotted in at centre-back – which means he could become a key utility man for Arne Slot’s evolving system at Anfield.

With previous targets like Moisés Caicedo slipping through Liverpool’s fingers (thanks, Chelsea), and historic interest in Tchouaméni still lingering, this might finally be the perfect time to strike.

Gravenberch was brilliant. But imagine a midfield trio of Tchouaméni, Mac Allister, and Szoboszlai running the show at Anfield. Scary.
