Luis Diaz’s Liverpool exit now closer than ever as Hansi Flick makes transfer stance clear

Luis Diaz’s Liverpool future is still hanging in the balance after a season of transfer rumours have surrounded the attacker.

The Anfield outfit have been one of the most dominant teams in England this season, and while they didn’t do as well as they would have liked to in the Champions League, they’ve still been in top form.

Numerous players have been linked with a Liverpool exit already this season, with Trent Alexander-Arnold being the first one to leave.

And, after a new update from Spain, it seems that Diaz’s Liverpool departure is now closer than it ever has been.

Hansi Flick gives his ‘approval’ for the transfer of Luis Diaz

Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has already admitted that he likes Diaz as Barcelona remain on the hunt to improve their ranks.

The Colombia international has been on the shortlist of many teams over the last couple of years, but Barcelona have been the ones cropping up most frequently.

And, after a new report from Spanish outlet SPORT outlined that Hansi Flick has given his ‘approval’ to make a move for Diaz, his exit seems closer than ever

The report goes on to add that Diaz has the ‘profile’ that the La Liga outfit are looking for, with their main goal of the summer being to sign a player who can play on the left wing

Florian Wirtz could be an ideal replacement for Luis Diaz at Liverpool

Unless you’ve been living under a rock over the past couple of days, you’ll know that Liverpool are leading the race for Florian Wirtz.

European giants such as Manchester City and Bayern Munich also showed an interest in the attacker, but it seems that Wirtz has chosen Liverpool’s project as the next step he wants to take.

While Wirtz is more naturally a number 10, he has been deployed on the flanks once in a while and has put in a more than decent shift

His creative flair alongside his keen eye for goal are just two reasons why he’d be an ideal fit for Arne Slot’s team.

And, his goal returns from the 2024-25 Bundesliga season speak for themselves

Of course, only time will tell what the future holds, but if Diaz does leave for Barcelona this summer, a replacement will have to be sourced, and it’s hard to think of a better player than Wirtz to do so
