Liverpool could look to complete a deal for Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku in the summer transfer window, according to reports – with the Merseyside club being keen on his versatility and potential at scoring goals, after showing his talents in the Bundesliga.
The Reds are set to see Darwin Nunez depart the club in the summer after his failure to secure a starting spot at Anfield, and that would leave only Diogo Jota as an out-and-out striker in their ranks. But with Nkunku able to play anywhere in the attacking spine, his inclusion could be vital for the Reds in their bid to reclaim the Premier League title after they ended a five-year hiatus from England’s top gong.

The report by The Sun claims that Chelsea star Nkunku is at the centre of a six-way transfer tussle – with Liverpool being involved in the battle.
The French star joined two years ago from RB Leipzig, but after his £52million move, is pushing for an exit from Stamford Bridge after failing to nail down a first-team spot – despite earning £300,000-per-week.
It’s thought that Liverpool want to sign the attacker, due to his versatility at playing at striker, behind the talisman or on either flank – and with his previous goal record at Leipzig seeing him score 58 goals in two seasons that saw him labelled as a ‘world-beater’ by the Bundesliga, it’s a deal that Arne Slot could look to force over the line.
West Ham United, Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be taking an interest, but Liverpool’s Premier League title win and guaranteed Champions League football next season could see them win the race for his signature.
Nkunku is expected to push for a move away after seeing Cole Palmer excel in his usual spot in attacking midfield, while Nicolas Jackson has blossomed up front – and only seven of his 22 starts have come in the Premier League, with the majority of those coming in domestic and European cup competitions.
