Liverpool are among several Premier League clubs monitoring promising Ajax defender Jorrel Hato ahead of the summer transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has revealed
The Reds have reportedly earmarked the talented Dutchman as a potential reinforcement for their backline and are following his development at Ajax closely.
The Premier League winners could face a summer battle to sign the 18-year-old, with Chelsea also believed to have listed Hato as one of their potential targets.
Ajax are in a strong negotiating position if any English clubs come calling, as Hato is under contract until June 2028.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Liverpool are among the English clubs interested in Hato:
“Let me start with Jorrel Hato, this talented defender from Ajax. For sure, he’s a player on the list of Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League.
“So both clubs are monitoring the player, and for sure he’s on the list.”
Hato, praised as ‘one of the best talents in Europe’, made his professional debut for Ajax aged just 16 two seasons ago and has been an important part of the Eredivisie giants’ backline ever since.
The 19-year-old already has 109 senior appearances to his name, as well as six caps for the Netherlands, and is considered one of the most promising players in his position.
The Dutchman would bring versatility to Arne Slot’s backline, as he can play both at left-back and in central defence, although he has featured exclusively as a left-back for Ajax this season.
Liverpool are expected to add to their defensive options this summer and are also believed to be monitoring Bournemouth sensation Dean Huijsen as another potential centre-back target.
