Latest Liverpool news and gossip as Bournemouth star sends a message to Dominik Szoboszlai after the Reds won the Premier League title
Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez has issued a message to Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai after the club’s Premier League title win.
The Reds were officially crowned Premier League champions on Sunday with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. Goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and an own goal from Destiny Udogie saw Liverpool clinch all three points against Spurs.
The result means that Liverpool now have an unassailable 15-point lead over second-placed Arsenal with four matches left to play.
The Reds could now have guards of honour in each of their final four fixtures against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Crystal Palace.
The final whistle sparked euphoric celebrations on the pitch, on the touchline and in the stands at Anfield.
Szoboszlai was alongside the rest of the Liverpool squad to celebrate the title win and has now been sent a message by an international teammate.
Kerkez and Szoboszlai are good friends off the pitch and are international teammates with Hungary. The Bournemouth defender has also been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool over the last few months and has issued a message to Szoboszlai.
“You deserve it my friend, love,” Kerkez wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday night. The post was accompanied by a photo of Kerkez and Szoboszlai in action for Hungary
Kerkez has been credited as a potential transfer target for Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.
The ECHO reported in March that the left-back is a player of interest to the Reds but is not the only name on the shortlist as the transfer window fast approaches.
Arne Slot currently has Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas as the left-back options in the Liverpool squad.
It remains to be seen whether the Reds will pursue a deal to sign Kerkez this summer or have a look at other potential options.
