Liverpool transfer news as $127M double swoop plotted and Wesley Franca agent ‘jets in’

Liverpool transfer news as a $127M double swoop is considered and Brazilian defender Wesley Franca is linked with a move to Anfield to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool could be crowned Premier League champion this weekend when it takes on Spurs at Anfield. But when the summer comes, it will still be a big period for the Reds.

Arne Slot has already hinted that signings will be coming in and Virgil van Dijk is looking forward to a “big summer”. “Quite exciting? It is very exciting!” he told reporters at the King Power Stadium last weekend. “Like I said, we had this season without a proper pre-season, without proper work behind the scenes on how the manager wants us to attack and defend, and be in possession.”

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with a Brazilian wonderkid who is being linked with the job of replacing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Wesley Franca (Flamengo)

With Alexander-Arnold potentially moving to Real Madrid on a free transfer, Liverpool is going to be linked with a variety of options who could replace the number 66. Wesley Franca, the 21-year-old Brazilian, is the latest.

Conor Bradley is another top contender for the role but if Alexander-Arnold does leave, another body will be needed in that area of the field. Bradley has had injury issues this season and Liverpool can’t leave itself short.

ranca is already a Brazilian international and according to the Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte, Liverpool and Manchester City are among the English sides set to hold talks with his representatives, who are said to be in the UK. A price tag of around $40 million (£30 million) has been mooted

Liverpool is considering a $127 million (£95 million) double swoop for Bournemouth defensive duo Milos Kerkez and Dean Huijsen, according to the Daily Mail. The latter has a release clause which makes up just over half of that sum.

As well as Liverpool, several other clubs are sniffing around Huijsen. After he moved to England from Juventus last summer, he has been superb, with Real Madrid keeping tabs on him, in addition to clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United.
