TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Liverpool still have an interest in Fulham star Antonee Robinson along with Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.
The Reds are on the verge of winning the Premier League title. Arne Slot’s side need just a point to get over the line, and they are likely to do so against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Once that’s done, the focus will be on the summer transfer window, and after signing just Federico Chiesa last summer, the Merseysiders are expected to be busy on the market this time.
Liverpool will look to strengthen multiple positions, and one of their priorities is a new left-back.
Some at Liverpool prefer Antonee Robinson over Milos Kerkez
TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Liverpool retain a strong interest in Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.
The Reds are set to bring in a new left-back this summer, and they have had talks about Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, who is still believed to be their likely first choice to come in.
However, TBR Football can reveal that Robinson – a player they have courted for more than 12 months – remains an option.
Indeed, we are told by sources close to Liverpool that Robinson is actually even the preferred option by some within Anfield.
Whilst Kerkez is viewed as a player with high ceiling, Robinson is currently seen as the best left-back in the Premier League and is ready to slot in from the off.
The fact that the American spent some of his formative years on Merseyside at Everton is considered as a helpful aspect in that the player will have no issues settling in the North West.
No matter what, Liverpool’s interest in the £40 million-rated Robinson and Kerkez underlines their intention to have a new left-back next season.
As it stands, TBR Football is told that the likely departure from Anfield as a result is Kostas Tsimikas, with Andy Robertson set to remain.
What Antonee Robinson has said about Liverpool links
Robinson has been of interest to Liverpool for a long time.
The USMNT international has been brilliant for Fulham over the last few years, and he has shown that he is ready for a big step-up.
After the Reds’ interest was widely reported, Robinson was asked for a comment on Liverpool signing him, but the Fulham star played it down.
He said in March: “Transfer rumours and stuff like that, I try not to look at.
“Especially like with the Liverpool one, all my friends and family are from Liverpool, so it’s more of them messaging me than me seeing newspaper stuff.
“And I have to say, look, it’s just, just a story in the paper, and anyone who’s doing well is going to get linked to a team.”
