Liverpool are on the verge of winning the Premier League title
The Reds have been the favourites for quite some time now, and they are now just a few days away from being confirmed as the champions.
If Arsenal lose to Crystal Palace on Wednesday, Liverpool will win the league, but if the Gunners don’t, the Reds will become the champions with a win against Tottenham next weekend.
Arne Slot deserves a lot of praise for lifting the league in his very first season at Anfield, and Micah Richards feels this is just the start.
Micah Richards reveals what he finds ‘scary’ about Liverpool
Liverpool have impressed everyone this season.
Losing just two of their first 33 Premier League games is a very impressive record for any team, let alone one that lost one of their greatest ever managers before the start of the campaign
Slot has done a great job at Anfield despite not being able to make any big signings in last summer’s transfer window.
Liverpool definitely deserve their title, and Richards is finding it really ‘scary’ because Slot has done this without any real investment.
The pundit feels that Liverpool have another level to reach, and if they sign a prolific attacker this summer, they will be the favourites to win the title again next season.
Richards said on the Rest is Football podcast: “You know what’s scary? I still believe they have got another gear to go. They are going to get some transfers.
“They miss a lot of chances, they could have someone as clinical as maybe, not Salah, but maybe someone a level below. I think they are going to be a real threat next season again.”
The one player Liverpool must sign this summer
Richards is right, there’s no reason why Liverpool will become even better next season.
Firstly, the players would’ve had a year’s experience of playing in Slot’s system, which will definitely help them going forward.
Secondly, Liverpool are almost guaranteed to sign new players in the summer, specifically a striker to replace Darwin Nunez, who is set to leave Anfield.
The perfect player to replace the Uruguayan would be Alexander Isak of Newcastle United.
TBR Football revealed recently that Liverpool are confident of landing Isak once the summer transfer window opens.
