Liverpool could soon be celebrating a Premier League title win if all goes to plan on Easter Sunday.

The Reds are just two wins away from clinching the championship, but they could be crowned if they defeat Leicester and Arsenal loses to Ipswich on Sunday.

As the red side of Merseyside prepares for what could be a historic celebration, activity behind the scenes at Anfield is intensifying as Liverpool looks toward a major summer transfer window.

Since the arrival of Arne Slot last summer, Liverpool has remained relatively quiet in the market, but that is expected to change as the season comes to a close.

One player who has generated a lot of buzz ahead of the summer is RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons. The Dutch talent has had another stellar season in Germany, drawing the attention of several top European clubs.

Journalist David Lynch recently stated that Liverpool is “100 percent” interested in Simons, as the club seeks to bolster its squad’s creativity. With the transfer window approaching, the player himself has now shared his thoughts on his summer plans.

**Xavi Simons Hints at Leaving RB Leipzig**

After spending 18 months on loan at RB Leipzig, Simons signed a permanent deal with the club in January. However, in an unexpected turn, it seems the 21-year-old could be available for transfer this summer.

Simons has seemingly confirmed this possibility, with journalist Florian Plettenberg sharing intriguing quotes from the Netherlands international following Leipzig’s 1-1 draw with Holsten Kiel on Saturday.

“I’m still a young player with many dreams – and the club knows that,” Simons said. “But right now, the most important thing for me is to perform well in the upcoming games. Then we have international matches, and after that, we’ll sit down and see what happens.”

Plettenberg further noted that Liverpool is one of the clubs showing interest in the attacking midfielder.

“Simons is under contract until 2027. Top clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, and others are all keen on him,” Plettenberg explained. “Leipzig is asking for €80m (£69m) if he decides to leave this summer. A departure is possible.”

**Simons’ Impressive Season**

Although an attacking midfielder might not top many Liverpool supporters’ wish lists this summer, there is a clear need for more creativity in the squad.

Simons could provide just that. The former Barcelona youth product has recorded 30 assists over three seasons with Leipzig and PSV Eindhoven.

Beyond his playmaking abilities, Simons is also a proven goal scorer. After netting 22 goals for PSV in 2022/23, he has scored 10 goals in each of the following two campaigns in Germany.

This season, Simons has registered 10 goals and six assists in 29 appearances, showing the promise of a player who can only improve as he matures. While £69m is a significant price, Simons is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the coming months.
