Justin Kluivert expects one of his Bournemouth team-mates to leave the club this summer. One who has been linked with Liverpool.
Cherries defender Dean Huijsen has been one of the biggest stars of the Premier League season, establishing himself in the team after moving to the club in the summer.
At just 19 he was called up to the Spain squad for the most recent set of fixtures and he played a superb pass to set up Lamine Yamal against the Netherlands on Sunday night
Given his rapid rise, a number of clubs have been linked with the centre-back, including both Liverpool and Real Madrid. It has been reported that Huijsen has a £50 million clause in his contract at Bournemouth this summer.
With that in mind, it would be no surprise to see the teenager get snapped up. Kluivert, who was asked about his team-mate after facing him on Sunday, seems to think he will be. “Huijsen won’t be with us next season,” he told Marca.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Huijsen was asked during his time on international duty with Spain about the prospect of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Would I like to play for Real Madrid? At the moment I’m not thinking about it,” he said. “I’m thinking about finishing the season well and then when the right time comes, we’ll see. It’s an honour that such an important team is interested in you. But we have to continue working and stay humble.”
