Manchester United transfer news as the first move for Dani Olmo emerges amid uncertainty over his future at Barcelona
Manchester United’s chances of signing Dani Olmo in the January transfer window have been dashed after a potential bid was announced. Olmo joined Barcelona this summer from RB Leipzig following his impressive performance at Euro 2024 with Spain. He has scored six goals in 15 appearances for the La Liga side, but wage restrictions in Spain make signing him impossible.
The worrying situation has seen several clubs interested in the player, with Chelsea and Manchester City linked with a possible move to Old Trafford. However, any move to the Premier League could be out of the question,
with AC Milan the frontrunner to sign Olmo. According to reports, the Italian team is ready to try ground with a tempting offer. CdS (via Football Espana) has reported that Milan’s offer includes a salary equivalent to what he has at Camp Nou with a six-month contract. It is thought he will return to Barcelona in the summer,
when they can sign him. Barcelona could sign Olmo before the January transfer window closes if they sell players. Reports in Spain claim that they may be looking to take advantage of Raphinha to try to lure Nico Williams to the club. The Spanish team is not necessarily willing to accept defeat in their bid to keep Olmo for the second half of the season. However, if the refusal continues, a move for the attacking midfielder MUST come to fruition.
